</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>The Jags are holding a fistful of their veterans out, so it's not a glaring red flag. But it is a reminder that Jones-Drew is still rehabbing and being treated with kid gloves following an offseason meniscus repair. Anyone rolling the dice that Jones-Drew will be healthy and effective this year needs to back him up with Rashad Jennings.

"I love it," Jones-Drew said. "I kind of got that feel back getting hit. Today was no soreness, no setbacks. No nothing." Jones-Drew insists "there is no pain at all" in his surgically repaired knee, and it feels better right now than it did at this time last year. He's determined to prove wrong those skeptical "fantasy football gurus who have never stepped on the field before or ever been in the locker room." MJD will not play Friday night against Atlanta, but expects to be ready for Week 1 against the Titans.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Doctors had banned MJD from running for seven months, a sign that his surgery was more serious than first reported. The good news is that he's regaining pre-injury form. Jones-Drew's "burst, cutting, and acceleration" have been on display in limited practices. "It's just better now because I don't have that pain," Jones-Drew said.

Jones-Drew is "probable" to play against the Rams in the finale. The Jags have treated him with kid gloves since the opening of camp, and there have been no setbacks thus far. He's going to remain a high-risk fantasy pick as a late-first or early-second rounder until we see evidence of his pre-injury form on the field.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>We're anxious to get a peek at how Jones-Drew looks. The Jags have exercised extreme caution as he is eight months removed from knee surgery, holding him out of the first three preseason games and limiting him in practice for the first couple weeks. Now he'll get a chance to play with the starters as the coaches don't want him out there behind a backup offensive line. Jones-Drew remains one of the bigger risk/reward picks available.

"He's got a lot of juice in his legs. He's always been quick and fast," said Smith, "but he's even quicker and faster." Jones-Drew recently revealed that he's down 15 pounds from last season. With Rashad Jennings no longer looming as a threat to siphon off touches, MJD's value is back on the rise entering Week 1. He remains a high-risk, high-reward fantasy asset.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"It actually feels like when I was eight years old, or maybe when I was born, fresh out of the womb knee," Jones-Drew said. "When you're in the middle of the game, tempers flare, emotions are flying. The coaches are doing what's best for the team. I can't argue with that at all." Jones-Drew is Rotoworld's 11th-ranked running back for Week 2 against the Jets.
